The main attraction here is a giant statue of the Goddess of Mercy which measures 67m in height and 35m in width and it's Buddha's light phenomenon.
This strange spectrum of light first appeared in the mountainous area in 2008 when the sun shines onto droplets of moisture in the earth atmosphere. To scientist this phenomenon is nothing but just a rainbow but it's rare round shape appearing above the Goddess of Mercy statue cause delights among Buddhist in Vietnam. From a certain angle, the light appeared to be shining behind the statue of the Goddess of Mercy.
It was first spoted by workers doing the constructing work on the statue back in 2008and a photo was taken at that time by a monk of the temple but was kept confidential as "natural miracle" until the phenomenon appeared again in 2009. To date, the "Buddha's Light" has appeared in the area 7 times , the last was in July 2009. Last year, the "light" first appeared on April 14 and now exactly one year later, Buddhists and photographers alike are anticipating its appearance again.
