One June 5, a prayer was held in the internationally disputed Spratly Islands by monks from Vietnam to commenmerate the people who died fighting for the country. The praying ceremony was held continously from 10am to 1am the following day and was attended by the local people of the island and the Vietnamese navy personnels stationed there. It was held in three small temples in the islands. The requiem was held to help ease the pain of families who lost their relatives in the Truong Sa sea.
