On August 17, 2010, two lounges exclusively for travelling monks were officially opened at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, Thailand. A blessing ceremony, attended by representative of the King, government officials and senior monks were held in the lounges.
The two lounges, each measuring 50 meter squares are waiting places for monks travelling from the airport. One lounge, located in the departure hall is for monks travelling overseas whereas another one which is located on level 2 is for domestic bound monks.
