Eva Ekvall, a TV presenter at present, is a former Miss Venezuala and 4th runnersup at Miss Universe 2001 who was featured in one of the earliest posts of this blog, sometime in 2008. Today i am posting about her again to update on her latest ordeal and to send my best wishes to her.
February 12, 2010 is a date that Eva will never forget in her entire life. It was on that day that she received the news that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, a news that was even more devastating as it came so soon ( 5 months ) after the birth of her first child.

From her interview with El Univesal ( a Venezuelan newspaper )
"I did not pay attention during the pregnancy because I thought it was another symptom of the many things that one feels. Then I went back to the doctor, I had a biopsy and it turned out to be cancer. It was depressing at first, many things were on my mind. I thought 'I'm gonna die, I'll say goodbye to my people'".
"I started chemotherapy treatment last week. There are several pre surgery sessions, which i have to undergo before any surgery is carried out". The Venezuelan beauty says that while it is natural to be afraid and worried over this but she is not going to give up. She says she draws strenght from her new born daugther to continue fighting until she recovers. " I have too much to live for. This is like a flu that i have to get better. I will continue my life with my daughter"
