As a child he had a strict upbringing but by his teen he turned into a bad tempered person, rebellious and often involve in street fights which eventually landed him in jail for 3 years. After his released from prison, he became a singer. He was introduced to Buddhism in 1992 and said that after adopted Buddhism, he has become a less temperamental person and had more friends unlike what he used to be before that.
